Over 80 children and their families from both Mont Kiara and Bangsar South joined our teachers and participated in the recent field trip to Aquaria KLCC on 22nd September 2018. As part of an extended learning, the field trip was planned in conjunction with our upcoming annual concert themed“ Rainbow Fish” to be performed by our very own White Lodge mini stars on November 24th 2018.
Aquaria KLCC is an oceanarium located beneath the s Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. It showcases 5000 different exhibits of aquatic and land bound creatures. It is in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s city centre.
The children were excited to explore the aqua life, beginning the tour from the Evolution Zone where they explored the Gene Pool, Piranha tank and the Electric Zone. Children and parents were excited to touch the starfish in the Gene Pool and learn more about the electric eels.
Passing through the Stream, and exploring the River Bank Jungle and Otter Den, the highlight for the children was the living Ocean Walk with various species of fish, turtles, sting ray and sharks.
Field trips enhance children’s learning in the ‘real world’, providing valuable learning opportunities which may not be available in a school setting. These experiences provide for provocations that lead to further investigations in the classroom and support children in making strong connections to their learning. We thank all the parents who continue to support us in our efforts as we continue to make learning more meaningful for our children.
